CROSS STITCH DESIGNS YOU’LL LOVE

”I’ve always been a keen crafter and had a love for art and needlework so when I saw a call out in a cross stitch magazine over twenty years ago I decided to respond and submitted my first ever design, a set of zodiac signs, the pattern was published and I’ve never looked back.

Over the years I’ve worked for magazines in the UK, USA and Netherlands and have contributed to various books as well as selling patterns here in my online shop, I was one of the first people ever to offer pattern downloads when I started my site 10 years ago and I like to keep ahead with ways to share my designs with all the lovely stitchers out there.

Being a freelance cross stitch designer has worked perfectly for me over the years and working from home has fitted in so well with my family life, since I began designing I have also raised two boys from babies to grown up young men and even managed to get through the teenage years without going too mad, well not completely …

When I’m not cross stitch designing , which I have to say is not that often! I like to travel in my caravan with my better half, Rich, and our border terrier, Bob, we like to explore new places, walk and enjoy the countryside and nature but I’m always looking for inspiration where ever I go.

I’m probably best known for my regular page in Cross Stitch Crazy Magazine, ‘Challenge Lucie’, which is where I come up with designs by special request from the readers, I’ve completed well over 1000 challenges to date, everything from wheelie bins to Sydney Opera house, you name it, I have almost certainly designed it!

My Favourite part of being a cross stitch designer is keeping in touch with people who stitch my patterns, I absolutely love to see all the photos that stitchers send to me of their amazing work, so much love goes into the stitching which is nearly always for friends and relatives and it’s a real privilege to be part of that, my mission is to keep designing and coming up with new ideas for patterns that people really want to stitch.”
